Imagine you were going about your business one day when suddenly you hear a voice calling your name. Somehow you know in your heart that it’s God calling. What would you say in response? A Biblical answer would be “Here I Am” which is exactly the response given by several men in the scriptures. It shouldn’t and Exodus 3:1-4:17 will show us that when Moses was first called into God’s service, he wasn’t that different from us today.

There is a reason that the Bible uses the concept of fire in association with Hell. Fire is awful, painful, and terrifying. C.S. Lewis said of hell, “There is no doctrine which I would more willingly remove from Christianity than [hell], if it lay in my power.” But he also recognized that hell is a necessary part of God’s goodness and justice.
A skeptic or enemy of Christianity may hear that and ask, "Why would a loving God send anyone to Hell?"
Can a reality of hell be compatible with a good God? Let's study the Bible together.
Matthew 10 was an exciting time. The apostles were preparing to go preaching on a limited commission. They had miraculous abilities….they had the truth…. but Jesus spent a significant amount of time warning them about "the reality of the reaction" to the gospel being preached. Sometimes we are confused by the reality of reaction too. We assume that everyone will listen, and those who don’t agree will simply mumble, grumble, but generally tolerate in silence what we say. This was not true them and it is not true today. Consider Jesus’ teaching to help us go from fearful to fearless confessors.
